Job Summary:
The Winder Operator manufactures filament wound pipe as part of a winding crew in diameters
from 2 inches to 72 inches. The winder operator operates the winding machine, including programming winding patterns using
machine software, helps with glass creel stock, mixing resin, dispensing resin, and pulling pipe off mandrels.

Installs mandrels onto winding equipment.
Sets up winder according to job specifications.
Constructs corrosion barrier by contact molding process.
Uses air rollers to remove possible entrapped air from corrosion barrier laminate.
Required to work with epoxy resins, polyester and vinyl ester resins, and associated promotion and catalyst
chemicals. Also required to be certified in the use of a full face respirator as well as other required Personal Protective
Equipment.
Ties continuous roving onto mandrel for pipe winding operation.
Squeegee?s excess resin off reinforced pipe wall. This can be a manual operation at times.
Pulls pipe off mandrel using overhead monorail cranes and electric hoists.
Performs other duties as assigned.
 

Requirements

Must have safe working attitude.
Basic math skills. Ability to read measuring tape and to use measuring scales.
Able to work as part of a crew with some supervision and able to work well with others.
