About the job
Facilitate and manage all aspects of E&P subsurface data for the geoscientists, so subsurface staff can take the right decisions with the right data. Single point of contact for end-users requiring data & documents correctly loaded from/to central repositories and/or other sources to end-user applications
Assuring full data quality (completeness, correctness of geodetic position, meta-data, etc.) in all data repositories, while delivering the data within the expected time frame. Providing first level support for E&P applications plus for corporate knowledge management systems.
Develop, maintain, improve, and enforce workflows, guidelines, standards and best practices for Upstream to ensure that data is correctly loaded with a rated quality. Proactively propose activities to improve efficiency, targeting the sweet-spot between costs and benefit.
Implement state-of-the-art E&P data management practices, e.g. correct unit conversions and geodetic transformations, maintenance of metadata, awareness of regional settings, etc.
Responsible for a correct data lifecycle (registration, maintaining, and archiving of the data and respective results)
Firm with Geodetics
Apply in-depth scientific (geology, geophysics, geodesy, petrolem engineering) and IT knowledge in support of applications and work processes
Master use data management specific E&P software and databases
Transform incoming data into other formats using state-of-the-art scripting or ETL tools
Make recommendations for improvements to DM tools, applications, and processes
Advise management of measures to improve “value for costs” (user training, special “niche applications” reflecting end-user requirements) and to fully adhere to Upstream’s data and application ownership framework
- Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or Geology/Geophysics or equivalent.
- Minimum 8-10 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas Industry
- Very good experience in Petrel/Studio, Production Dynamic, ArcGIS.
