Language:      Fluent in English and Dutch (both verbally and in writing)

Work Location:       Refinery Rotterdam-Europoort.

Anticipated assignment length:      Until mid-2027.

Project Description

Our client one of the world’s largest independent commodities trading houses by turnover is working on major projects (being planned), including:

• Ammonia storage facilities,
• A HVO unit for the production of renewable diesel and aviation fuel,
• A hydrogen purification unit (PSA) and LPG recovery facilities, and
• Several modifications to existing facilities.

All projects are in the FEED phase and site preparations have started. The project manager will be responsible one of their major projects. He will manage the project team during the FEED, the detailed engineering, the construction, mechanical completion, the commissioning and start-up phase of the project.

Position Description:

As a member of the Project team, he / she contributes to maturing one of the major projects and manages the relations with our investment partner in the FEED and EPC phase. This position provides an opportunity to join our client’s team as a senior project manager/portfolio manager in projects.

Key activities and accountabilities will include:

• Establish a safety-first culture to projects.
• Manage risks in design and construction.
• Ensure, technical integrity and applicable standards being implemented.
• Manage project interfaces, resources, scope, schedule, costs and quality.
• Ensure that project control processes are in place.
• Work closely together with Contracting, Procurement, Operations and Maintenance and other departments.
• Manage HSE, Quality Assurance and Control.
• Implement the relevant engineering standards, capture lessons learned through pre- and post-project reviews.

Experience/Skill:

• • • • 15+ years engineering and Brownfield/Greenfield work experience.
      • Has working experience with managing projects on behalf of Clients in the Oil and Gas business.
      • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related fields.
      • Manage and support project teams in a matrix organization
      • Manage and support engineering contractors and construction contractors
      • Pro-active.
      • Good people management.
      • Good communication and presentation skills.
      • Good knowledge of policies, procedures and best practices.
      • Good planning skills.
      • Good negotiation skills.
