Chief Executive Officer (Independent E & P Company)

Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan

Purpose:

Lead an early-stage oil and gas exploration and production company and develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives.

Make strategic and financial decisions that determine the trajectory of the company

Monitor budgets, resources, and procedures by working with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities:

Be the key representative of the early-stage Oil & gas Exploration & Production company in communicating important decisions to business stakeholders

Develop FDP(field development plans), drilling plans, Production strategies

Execute facilities development and optimization

Develop, execute, and assess top business strategies that will propel company growth

Collaborate with other executives, managers, and employees to identify meaningful solutions

Serve as a main resource for managers in finance, marketing, and sales operations

Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission

Make high-quality investing decisions to advance the business and increase profits

Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics

Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements

Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for important shareholders

Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth

Maintain a deep knowledge of the Oil and gas markets and industry of the company

Requirements:

Proven experience as CEO or in similar level executive position

Ideal candidate will have 25+ years experience in similar regional oil and gas assets in Exploration and Production environment

Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision for similar early-stage Oil and gas companies.

Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles

Has expereince in M&A (mergers & acquisitions, JVs(joint ventures) and raising capital from market

Expert understanding of corporate finance and business management

Strong knowledge of financial, technical, and economic concepts

Familiarity with regional regulatory compliance, preferably from Kazakhstan

Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance etc.

In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices

An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
