We are seeking a highly skilled Seed Production Expert to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting all phases of oleaginous seed production with our producers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and timely supplies to our facility. Reporting to the Agricultural Development Manager, you will provide technical assistance to Producers and develop crop placement strategies to optimize production. This position involves working across sites to implement best practices in seed production and maintaining records in collaboration with Operations Managers and Agronomists.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise third-party producers in all aspects of seed production, including planning, seeding, harvesting, and packaging.
• Collect data for trials and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify improvement areas and mitigate risks.
• Maintain meteorological records from the fields on a daily basis.
• Analyze operating and compliance data to provide management insights.
• Collaborate with operations personnel and stakeholders in Research & Development, Pathology, and Commercial departments.
• Ensure optimal seed production results while minimizing costs.
• Manage producers’ inputs stock and develop a long-term production strategy for consistent quality and supply.
• Coordinate land preparation, planting, and harvesting activities in conjunction with Producers, Plant Managers, and Harvest and Post-Harvest Operation Specialists.
• Oversee field operations and agronomists conducting field scouting.
• Partner with specialists to manage projects aimed at reducing production costs and improving production concepts.
• Perform pre-season planning duties, including inputs planning and field selection.

Job Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy Sciences or related field, with a preference for seed production.
• Must have a minimum 3 years of experience in seed production/planning and 8 years in the agricultural or agribusiness sector.
• Experience in oleaginous seed production is an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of plant physiology and breeding is desirable.
• Proficiency in QGIS, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong data-management skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
