Job Description

Corrosion Engineer

For an important International Oil & Gas Company, we are currently looking for an Corrosion Engineer  to work in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. 

 
To be successful in this Role, you need:

  • High School or Technical Degree.
  • Must have a minimum CP2 NACE cathodic protection technician certification.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pipeline corrosion control.
  • Knowledge of Mexican cathodic protection regulations as well as related industry standards is required.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to complete tasks and assignments in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Utilize computers and email for internal and external communication, record keeping, online reporting, ordering materials and supplies, and filing various forms.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Internal corrosion prevention experience preferred.
  • Above/below ground coatings preferred.


Scope of work includes but is not limited to:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair cathodic protection, internal corrosion monitoring and above/below ground coating systems.
  • Manage and coordinate the use of outside contractors for corrosion surveys and cathodic protection system installations.
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring to other field personnel performing corrosion control activities.
  • Maintain company records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise to evaluate and resolve design, operation and maintenance problems related to corrosion control.
  • Identify and mitigate interference problems.
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of cathodic protection systems.
  • Represent the Company in corrosion control program audits.
  • Maintain / repair the rectifier remote monitoring system.
