Position Title: Compliance and Accounts Receivables Accountant

We are currently seeking a diligent and experienced Compliance and Accounts Receivables Accountant to join our finance team.

 
Job Summary:

• The Compliance and Accounts Receivables Accountant will be responsible for managing the accounts receivables portfolio, ensuring timely collection of payments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of Nigerian financial regulations.

 
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivables Management:

• Manage the accounts receivables portfolio, including following up on collections, and reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts to ensure timely collection of payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce overdue receivables.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivables transactions.

 
Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant Nigerian financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Prepare and submit required financial reports and documentation to regulatory bodies including pension fund administrators, tax authorities, NSITF/ ITF and other regulators.
• Assist during audits to ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and advise management on compliance issues.

 
Financial Reporting:
Prepare weekly and annual accounts receivables reports.
Provide analysis and insights on accounts receivables performance to management.
 
Customer Relations:

• Liaise with customers to resolve any billing issues or discrepancies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers to facilitate smooth payment processes.
• Address customer inquiries and provide support regarding account status and payment terms.

 
Internal Controls:

• Develop and implement internal controls related to accounts receivables and compliance.

Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of [3-5] years of experience in accounts receivables and compliance, preferably within a similar industry.
• In-depth knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
