Chief Warehouse Accountant

Job Summary

Manage and Coordinate the Warehouse Accounting and financial office flows (codification of PRs, Store Entries, Store Issues, Reports).

Main Responsibilities

• Coordination and Control of Purchase Requests codification process

• Coordination and Control of Delivery orders process

• Coordination and Control of material goods receipts and good issuance

• Management of store inventory and communication to relevant project personnel

• Management of reconciliation of physical inventory to accounting records in order to align the warehouse accounting statement for the project accounting closing balance.

• Invoices checking and verification.

• Accounts Payable

• Daily transaction posting and bookkeeping through SAP.

• General Ledger reconciliation

• Creation and management of fixed asset register in SAP

• Preparation, analysis and assessment of warehouse management reports

• Preparation, analysis and assessment of management and financial accounting reports, related to the monthly closing of the warehouse accounting statement.

• Preparation and Assessment of operative-accounting/financial reports (Stock Aging, Stock Report, PR request processing Status)

• Filing and internal audit compliance

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting (CA and/or CPA is not a requirement) or related field (eg Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor in commerce, Bachelor of Science Business Administration)

• Leadership and management

• Problem Solving

• Data analysis and assessment

• Proactive critical thinking

• Minimum 7 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role – preferred.

• Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works.

• At least 5 years of experience working in a similar role on mining or major civil infrastructure projects of comparable size and complexity to the project.

• Preferred experience in contractor construction industry (infrastructure).

• Experience in Microsoft Office suite.

• Experience working with ERP SAP (at least 7 years)

• Good understanding of financial accounting concepts

• Construction material knowledge (advantageous)
