Senior Dam Construction Manager
 
Location          :           (Northern) Norway – Nore and Uvdal Municipality
Contract          :           Long-term
Working hours :           40 hours per week, travel required
Language        :           Norwegian spoken/written and English is a plus
Start date       :            ASAP
 
The assignment includes construction management and two Dams in Norway. Both of these projects are located in Nore and Uvdal municipality. Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a strong focus on constructability and with a practical approach in the design phase, starting at an early stage and be involved in the implementation phase.
 Nature and scope of the assignment 

Planning phase
A proactive construction manager resource is wanted in the planning phase of the dam projects, both in terms of technical solutions and practical implementation of the projects.
The construction manager assists the project manager through participation in planning and design meetings, general administrative project support and inspections. The construction manager also assists in the procurement process with quality assurance and evaluation of offers from building contractors.

The commitment in this phase will be from 50% – 100%. Workload will vary as the project progresses. 
 
Implementation phase
The construction manager is responsible for the daily management, control and coordination of the work at the facility in collaboration with the project manager and SHA coordinator. The construction manager has a meeting place at the construction site. The commitment is 100%.
 
Service DescriptionThe construction manager is responsible for the daily management, control and coordination of all work on the site, including ensuring that the scope of delivery is in accordance with the agreement in the individual contract.
 
General performanceGenerallyThe construction manager is responsible for the daily management, control and coordination of all work on the site, including ensuring that the scope of delivery is in accordance with the agreement in the individual contract. The construction manager must

1. keep a diary (including photographs) documenting events and conditions at the building/construction site; and
2. convene, chair and refer to construction and progress meetings;
3. be the project manager’s local representative in connection with work on the site;
4. make the project manager aware of circumstances that may hinder or complicate the implementation of the project
5. have an overview of all relevant regulatory requirements for the necessary permits for the execution of the works on the site and ensure that the requirements are identified and followed;
6. participate in project and coordination meetings;
7. assist the project manager in complying with agreements entered into with local authorities and agencies;
8. assist the project manager in following up the relationship with affected neighbours;
9. assist the project manager with a project completion report and appropriate documentation for experience feedback.
