Job summary

For a major project onshore/offshore Romania, we are seeking a Senior Expert Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for Operational input to Design, Quality Assurance and Testing & Commissioning of all Mechanical Equipment within the project and will coordinate, together with the Senior Expert Operations and others directly involved with the EPC work in relation to mechanical equipment and in particular Gas turbine driven power gens. 
 
Main Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the inspection and maintenance planning for mechanical equipment in cooperation with the Sr Expert Maintenance Engineer.
  • Assure development of the Project’s Digital Twin system especially in relation to performance management and vendor interfaces.
  • Engage with selected Vendors to ensure equipment diagnostic and monitoring systems are being setup to support high uptime Operations.
  • Responsible for development of Operational procedures for selected Mechanical equipment.
  • Provide technical and engineering expertise to the Operational team within the project.
  • Provide support in the procurement phase and management phase for equipment/services contractors.
  • Verify that the required spare parts are being included in spares and logistics philosophies.
  • Validate mechanical vendors proposed by the EPC contractors.
  • Participate in acceptance testing for selected equipment.
  • Ensure that deliveries conforms to the specifications as far as performance, quality, shipping packaging, documentation, certificates and instruction manuals are concerned.
  • In coordination with the Maintenance Manager evaluate the expected performance of the equipment to be installed, and maintain a database with the relevant information to be used for future performance management reference.
  • Responsible for coordination of mechanical equipment maintenance within the Project.
  • Responsible for implementation of the requirements in the future Asset plans.

 
While offshore

  • Defines procedures, guidelines and policies and provides input for long-term strategy. Provides guidance within complete function at the framework / policy development level and provides strategic advice for the function
  • Act as Asset level technical authority for mechanical discipline to review / be involved / develop technical specifications, engineering studies, process design specifications for new, revamped and existing process facilities;
  • Plan and develop strategies and measures to reduce down time for mechanical equipments to improve the quality of maintenance activities.
  • Analyses existing facilities & proposes process/ equipment improvements, de-bottlenecking, upgrades
  • Provides technical support in mechanical field for static and rotating equipment, expertize in maintaining GTG Solar is a plus
  • Liaises with condition monitoring / NDT engineer to monitor mechanical performance of all equipment onshore/offshore and identify possible issues.
  • Document and manage detailed technical process and quality documentation crucial for regulatory compliance. 
  • Supervises testing, acceptance process for the materials and equipment. Ensure that deliveries conforms with the requested specifications as far as quality, shipping packaging, documentation, certificates and instruction manuals and concerned
  • Evaluates the performance of the equipment installed/used, with particular reference to the reliability, quality of service and “fit for purpose” issues, and maintains a database with the relevant information to be used for future reference. 

 
Requirements:

  • Education:      Bachelor Degree
  • Subject of education: Engineering
  • Relevant professional experience:  ˃ 9-12 years
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a previous offshore project is required
  • Very good knowledge of Offshore Oil & Gas Production.
  • Good knowledge of Gas turbine Design, Operation and Maintenance
  • Excellent Mechanical Equipment knowledge.
  • Knowledge in project planning and economics (OPEX, CAPEX, Maintenance and Contracting strategies).
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capacity to understand and solve complex issues working closely in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in communication tasks at management level and cross-functional team efforts.
  • Ability to work well with teams; capable of building teams and to work with intercultural teams.
  • Ensuring that both internal and external performance is customer driven,
  • Identifying and assessing possible risks and taking the appropriate measures,
  • Project Management Certification
  • Working knowledge of English.
  • Computer literate.
