Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Contract Manager to join our team, within leading construction company, for an exciting railway project in Timisoara, Romania. As the Assistant Contract Manager, you will work closely with the Contract Manager to ensure the smooth execution of contractual agreements and provide support in managing various aspects of the project. This position requires a background in either legal or engineering, and prior experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Contract Manager in the day-to-day management of contractual agreements and project activities.
• Drafting contractual correspondence, reports, presentations, and documentation related to contractual matters (including templates for future use ad-hoc reports on projects as needed)
• Review and analyze project contracts, identifying key terms, conditions, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with the Contract Manager to ensure compliance with contract specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
• Working closely with other teams within the organization, including finance, legal, quantities and quality
• Checking for documents accuracy and files editing
• Distribute project-related information to internal team and departments
• Assist in the preparation and negotiation of contractual changes, variations, and claims.
• Coordinate with internal and external entities to resolve contractual issues and disputes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all contractual correspondence, documentation, and related project files (letters, emails, reports)
• Assist in the management of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.
• Stay updated with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to construction contracts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in law, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably on large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with construction contracts, legal frameworks, project management and relevant regulations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret contractual documents.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Romanian is required. Italian is a plus.
• Driving license is a plus
