Background:

Our client is a global energy company specializing in the production of electrical cables for use in the energy and telecom sectors, as well as optical fibers installed by HV jointers. Present in over 50 countries with 150 years of experience, the client is working towards enabling the global transfer of digital information and energy. They specialize in designing, manufacturing, and installing voltage cable systems both underground and subsea. In doing so, they can provide network components, value-added engineering and monitoring, and maintenance systems and services.

The company is committed to the development of an organization that prioritizes talent, abilities, diverse experiences, and cultural backgrounds; thus, in general, all forms of diversity. As such, our client is continuously expanding its efforts within Diversity and Inclusion (D&I).

Challenge of the company:

As an equal opportunity employer, our client aims to include female professionals, more specifically HV jointers. However, it was a challenge to find certified personnel within a limited time frame (and location). As a result, our client contacted us and requested support to find suitable professionals for the project.

The WTS Solution:

After thoroughly assessing the client’s needs, WTS Energy was able to solve the challenge by utilizing its internal network of professionals, which made the process faster. As a result, three women HV jointers who had been trained at one of our training centers in the past were interviewed and their skills were thoroughly assessed by the client. After completion of the training, these women obtained the right certifications and qualifications to be able to work on the client’s project.

Once they were approved by the client, we fully assisted them in the relocation process by arranging visas and other required documents for them to work in the Netherlands. Furthermore, we helped to onboard them in the job and the country by providing support in arranging accommodation, municipality registration, opening bank accounts and meet and greet. Like this, providing an all-round first day impression in a new country – how to get around, where to shop, medical, basic language etc

Throughout the entire process, WTS Energy ensured that they were comfortable and satisfied in their relocation experience. Additionally, we are facilitating expense registration and payment of salaries by providing our client with payrolling support.
