As a powerful tool, AI is helping us to optimize workflows and simplify everyday tasks. But what’s the real impact on our consultants in the energy and infrastructure industries? We asked several consultants to share their firsthand experiences with AI, both at work and in their personal lives. Here are their experience and opinions.

How are consultants using AI at work?
AI is already a tool that’s making a real difference in how consultants work. For Lydia, who is a product designer, AI is like a helpful teammate, taking care of the small stuff so she can focus on key tasks. She said:
Lydia – Product Designer
AI is an essential part of my work as a product designer. For example, when designing a profile card, I use AI in Figma to generate a random user photo and remove the background instantly. This saves time and lets me focus on design instead of searching for images or using extra tools.
AI also helps me stay informed about projects. With Copilot, I can quickly get context on what my teammates are working on without asking around or being in the dark. This makes collaboration smoother and more efficient.
As an Environmental Officer, Constantin sees AI as a time-saver, helping him get more done while also supporting greener solutions:
Constantin – Environmental Officer
I am using AI at work to gather information, and I noticed that this makes me more efficient at my workplace … AI is calculating better transport routes minimizing the environmental impact and much more.
In the energy sector, AI is making complex tasks like supplier engagement and sustainability tracking faster and smarter. Our consultant Barbara shares her experience:
Barbara – Business Development Consultant
As a Business Development Consultant, I use AI tools for market research, data analysis, and CRM automation for supplier engagement to optimize energy feedstock sourcing for our projects. AI enhances supplier identification, sustainability tracking, and efficiency.
AI Beyond Work: How Consultants Use it in Daily Life
AI isn’t just changing the workplace. Our consultants are also using AI outside of work. For Lydia, AI is like a personal assistant and a source of curiosity, making everyday tasks easier and more interesting.
Lydia
In my personal life, I use AI for convenience, like asking Siri to make calls while driving. I also experiment with AI tools like ChatGPT and DeepSeek to compare results just for fun.
Constantin and Barbara think of AI as a smarter, faster way to get answers, and they’re excited about its growing role in their daily life.
Constantin and Barbara
“It is almost the same in my personal life, where I use AI to find out a lot of things and to confirm some of it. I can see AI impacting more aspects of my life in the future.”
“I personally use it for concise searches instead of using a search engine.”
The Good, the Bad? Pros and Cons of AI
From their stories, AI is proving to be an essential tool for managing tasks at work and exploring new possibilities in everyday life.
Constantin highlighted how AI is revolutionizing industries, particularly in environmental protection:
“AI also is proving to be a game-changer in environmental protection, offering innovative solutions to combat climate change, protect wildlife, reduce pollution, and optimize natural resource use.”
However, AI isn’t perfect. Barbara pointed out the challenge of data quality, noting,
“I’m forced to use different platforms to get quality information when researching, which can be time-consuming.”
Lydia also mentioned occasional errors or “hallucinations” in AI outputs, which can lead to inaccuracies.
“While AI is a powerful tool, it still requires human oversight to ensure reliability and relevance.”

Conclusion
There is no doubt that AI is changing the way we work and live. While there are challenges, such as data quality and occasional errors, embracing AI enhances the value we bring and opens doors to innovation. For our consultants, AI isn’t just a tool – it’s a partner in adapting to a smarter world.
