Business Development Manager (Logistics & Freight Forwarding)

JOB PURPOSE:

As a Business Development Manager with experience in freight and forwarding, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, building and maintaining client relationships. Your primary focus will be on generating new business opportunities, meeting sales targets, and promoting the company’s freight and forwarding services in the KSA market. This role requires a strong sales background, in-depth knowledge of the freight and logistics industry, and experience working in the KSA.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Strategy and Business Development:

1. Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve company revenue targets and expands the customer base in the KSA market.

2. Identify potential customers, industries, and market segments for targeting sales efforts.

3. Developing existing clients with a game plan to engage and secure opportunities

4. Build and maintain a sales pipeline, consistently prospecting and generating new business opportunities.

5. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay informed about industry trends, customer needs, and pricing strategies.

6. Issue Visit reports and update database on regular basis.

Client Relationship Management:

1. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored freight and forwarding solutions.

2. Conduct sales presentations, negotiate contracts and pricing, and address customer inquiries and concerns.

3. Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates on shipments, address issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.

4. Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and meet client expectations.

Marketing and Promotional Activities:

1. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sales collateral, presentations, and promotional materials.

2. Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to generate leads and increase brand visibility.

3. Stay updated with industry trends, market developments, and competitive offerings, providing insights and recommendations for marketing and sales strategies.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, logistics, or a related field. 

2. Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in sales within the freight and forwarding industry preferably in Project forwarding/Project logistics, specifically in the KSA Market

3. Solid understanding of freight forwarding operations, logistics, and supply chain management.

4. Established network of contacts and clients in the KSA freight and logistics industry.

5. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.

6. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

7. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and team members.

8. Leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire

9. Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to work independently and under pressure.

10. Proficiency in using CRM software and sales tools.

11. Travel in KSA required (+GCC)

12. Valid driver’s license.
