Expert Structures Design (Civil Engineer with background in design)

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in structural design to join our railway project team as an Expert Structures Design Engineer. As an Expert Structures Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of various structures related to the railway system, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. This is a critical role that requires a thorough understanding of civil engineering principles and expertise in designing structures specific to railway projects.

Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage the design and analysis of various structures, such as bridges, tunnels, viaducts, retaining walls, and other related infrastructure components for the railway project.

· Conduct feasibility studies and assessments to determine the most suitable structural solutions, considering factors such as load capacities, environmental conditions, geotechnical considerations, and safety regulations.

· Develop detailed design plans, specifications, and calculations for structural components, ensuring adherence to project requirements, codes, and standards.

· Utilize advanced engineering software and tools to perform structural analysis, simulations, and modeling to validate design integrity and performance.

· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, geotechnical engineers, construction managers, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of structural designs within the overall railway project.

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters involved in the structural design process.

· Conduct site visits and inspections to assess construction progress, identify potential issues, and propose remedial actions, if required.

· Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging trends, and regulatory changes in structural design for railways, and incorporate them into the project designs.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

· Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.

· Extensive experience (at least 8-10 years) in structural design within the field of civil engineering, with a focus on railway projects.

· In-depth knowledge of relevant design codes and standards, such as AASHTO, Eurocodes, or other internationally recognized guidelines.

· Proficiency in using structural analysis software tools (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MIDAS, etc.) and computer-aided design (CAD) software.

· Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex engineering data and calculations.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

· Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.

· Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring structural safety and integrity.
