Job Description

Lead Project Control and Cost Estimating

  • Location: Rotterdam at 80% minimum
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: minimum of 3 years renewable

Candidate profile: This is a full-time hybrid role for Project Controls Lead. The successful candidate would be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules, project cost controlling & estimation. Shall also provide detailed analysis of progress to identify potential delays, manage resource planning, and support decision-making processes, overall scheduling, Project costs estimation. Schedule Assessment – Steering the review and validation of third party Project schedules. Maintain interfaces with other schedules. Integrated Schedule Management – Leading the generation of the Integrated schedule in order to successfully deliver the programme in accordance with planning principles. Cost management (and associated EAC) – Collection of actual cost data, forecasting, identification of feedback and feedforward deviations. Development of corrective actions. Risk and Opportunity Management – Identification of schedule and cost risks and opportunities, identification of mitigation measures and inclusion of allowances in cost forecast and schedule. Procuremement – Active involvement in Bid Team activity, ensuring the Project Management ‘basics’ are appropriately considered and implemented Deliverables: Monitoring all deliverables against the scheduling with project owner engineering team Estimation: making regular project estimation exercise with Contractors.   What we’re looking for from you: • Planning experience – ranging from detailed planning to summary level milestone delivery plans. • Capability in creating and maintaining project structures (WBS/CBS/OBS) • Experience in generating and analysing project performance data (schedule, resource, and cost). • Ability to perform and analyse SRA/Critical Path Analysis/EVM • Motivation to determine root cause and identify corrective action • Experience of Project Management Toolsets (Primavera P6/MS Project) • Knowledge of Baseline Management and Change Management • Accountability for project insights – owning the quality of the project control reporting suite • Ability to influence, work independently and be part of an integrated multi-functional team • Clear communication skills and the ability to foster collaborative working relationships with colleagues at all levels • Ability to prioritise workload and manage conflicting demands • As planning leader you will be in charge of the activities related to the planning and follow-up of the project. • Develop and maintain the project schedule, • Identify and manage interface issues between the different disciplines (internal & partners) • Execute simulations for changes and opportunities • Resourcing schedules and highlighting risks and co-activities • Communicate the schedule to the line manager as well as project team • Prepare status and progress reports for project management • Monte Carlo cost estimates specialist, understand project’s risks better and enable better cost control. Monte Carlo simulations technique to implement project cost control for “known unknowns”.   Requirements • 10 years of experience in project control & scheduling • Experience with EPC & EPCM of petrochemical projects in the west EU. • Experience with Earned Value Methodology and analysing risks and issues • Knowledge of PMI and AACE standards is an advantage • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams • Master / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field • Fluent in English, both written and spoken , knowledge of Dutch is a big plus. • Flexible and adaptable with a mindset for continuous improvement and team player. • Valid EU work permit • Availability in Rotterdam at site at least 80%
