Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welding/Coating Material Engineer to join our team in Paris, France, for a 12-month project with the potential for extension. This role is crucial for our client’s offshore projects, particularly in deep-sea environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Oil & Gas business, with specific expertise in material and corrosion, insulation coating, and managing EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement welding and coating procedures for offshore projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Provide expertise in material selection and corrosion prevention strategies to enhance project longevity and efficiency.
• Oversee the application of high thickness insulation coatings (e.g., 5LPP) to ensure optimal thermal insulation and corrosion resistance.
• Collaborate with EPCI contractors to ensure that welding and coating activities are executed according to project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Conduct failure analysis and material selection studies to prevent potential issues in harsh marine environments.
• Participate in project meetings, providing technical advice and updates on welding and coating progress and challenges.
• Ensure all welding and coating processes adhere to environmental regulations and safety standards.

Required Competences

• More than 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with valuable experience in offshore projects, particularly deep-sea projects.
• Proven experience in managing EPCI contractors, with the ability to oversee large-scale projects effectively.
• Expertise in material and corrosion, insulation coating, and specifically high thickness insulation coating (e.g., 5LPP).
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex engineering problems.
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English; proficiency in French is advantageous.
