Why do you love your job

Have you ever wondered why some people practically jump into work every day, while others drag their feet through the door? In this month full of love and hope, we’re not just focusing on romantic love, but also the burning passion that individuals have for their work.

Why do you love your job? We asked our audience

On 29 January, we ran a poll on our company’s LinkedIn page asking if people are passionate about their work. We were delighted to receive a total of 972 responses, and the results were incredibly inspiring. Over 74% of respondents expressed a sincere love for their work. This overwhelming positivity resonates deeply with us! To explore this sense further, we reached out to a few consultants. They told us to their personal stories and the secrets to maintaining enthusiasm and passion for their work.

Why do you love your job? What our consultants and employees say

Lucky, a mechanical engineer said he loves his job because it makes him proud and it also takes him above and beyond measure.

Jackline has been an HSE specialist in Kenya for seven years. She tells her story and tips to keep passionate about her work.

“There’s something wonderful about equipping people with HSE knowledge and information and seeing them implement and build a culture on it. It gives me a great sense of achievement to face challenges head-on and come up with practical solutions. These keep people, the environment, and assets safe. I love working with a talented team of diverse professionals who continuously contribute to my growth and knowledge in the Industry.

I stay passionate by keeping up to date with the latest trends in the industry. Also by learning new things, and regularly engaging with other professionals in the field through various forums.”

Eric, the control room operator, shares with us his joy on the first work anniversary of joining WTS Energy. Congratulations to him!

“February 1st marks one year since I joined WTS ENERGY. I thrive on the daily challenges, the opportunity to learn, and the sense of accomplishment when overcoming obstacles in my work. The continuous growth and fulfillment make me love what I do.

I’m grateful for the experience, the supportive colleagues, and the opportunities that have shaped this remarkable year. Looking forward to more milestones ahead.”

Last, Gans, who earned ‘the people’s champ’ distinction for his charisma and eagerness to help, shares his philosophy of life with us in passionate words.

“I am working in 37°C Heat with 97% Humidity, 114km from the equator – Why would I want to work here?  Because meeting and working with people have always brought me joy. Especially showing them better and quicker ways to get the same or sometimes better results. We should work Smarter, not Harder.

I always would provide my utmost to help people, regardless of what it may be, and if I may not know, I will attempt to find out. I do not see problems – I see obstacles. And the most satisfactory feeling would be to see someone’s face when they just realized that they have accomplished something which they thought 3 years ago would be impossible to achieve.

I appreciate the strength of each individual in my team. There is no “I” in TEAM – Together, Everybody Achieve More. Every evening, before I go to sleep, I must be able to point out at least one person whose life I believe I’ve impacted positively. If not, I have wasted a day.”

Thanks to these professionals and people who passionately love what they do. Joyful work isn’t just a goal, it’s a way of life.
